Network Fellowship

Foundational Values

We hope that these foundational values are present in all churches, but it never hurts to remind ourselves what they are. These are not intended to be a complete doctrinal statement but they provide some basic principles by which we can organize our lives and our church. In relation to Network Fellowship we also have some other principles that guide how we organize ourselves. Click here to visit the page that explains these principles further.

Jesus is Lord

Scripture tells us that "every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord" (Romans 14:11 and Philippians 2:10-11). Peter confessed before Christ his belief that He was "the Messiah, the Son of the living God" (Matthew 16:16). We choose to make these confessions here and now and to live according to their premise.

We are saved by grace

Not by our own merit, but because of the mercy of God and the sacrifice of Christ are we saved and able to live in eternity with God (Romans 3:22-24). This grace that we have experienced should manifest itself in the way we live and treat each other (1 Peter 4:9-11). In fact our actions in grace are part of our testimony and should be a signal to others that we follow Christ (John 13:34).

The Bible is God's Word

The Bible is God's story and in reading and learning more about this story we more fully understand His character and how we should live. 2 Timothy 3:16 informs us that "all scripture" is useful for learning and instruction. We would do well to be like the Bereans who were commended for diligently studying Scripture (Acts 17:11).

We have a commission

Jesus told the disciples that they would be "fishers of men" (Mark 1:17) His final instructions before He ascended was to "go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19-20). This missional imperative should drive all that we do individually and as a fellowship. We want to show and tell people about the "light of Christ" that shines in the darkness (2 Corinthians 4:5-6).
